Chicken tikka masala - recipe

Ingredients for the marinated chicken:
  • 300 grams of boneless chicken
  • 100 grams of yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon tandoori
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon ginger/garlic mix (2 cloves of garlic and a small piece of ginger)
  • a bit of chili powder 
  • a pinch of salt

Ingredients for the sauce:
  • 300 milliliters of water
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic mix (2 cloves of garlic and a small piece of ginger)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon tandoori
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • a bit of chili powder 
  • a bit of salt



Mix the chicken meat with the yogurt, the tandoori, the garam masala, the chili, the garlic /ginger mix and the salt and let it rest for 2 hours.


Put the chicken in a pot and let it cook until dry.


Prepare the sauce:

In a frying pan heat the sunflower oil and add the mashed garlic/ginger. Let it simmer for a few seconds.


Add the mashed onion and let it simmer for another few seconds.

Add the garam masala, the tandoori, the chili powder, the salt and a bit of water. Let it simmer for a few minutes then add the remaining water and let it simmer for another minute.



Pour everything in a pot and add the meat. Let it simmer in until the meat is well cooked. This will take about 30 minutes.



Can be served with boiled rice and some leaves of coriander above.
