Potatoes with a twist - recipe with step-by-step photos

Ingredients for the dough:
  • 450 grams of wheat flour
  • 200 milliliters warm water
  • 100 milliliters warm milk
  • 10 grams of fresh yeast
  • 2 spoons olive oil
  • a bit of honey/sugar

Ingredients for the filling:
  • 450 grams of boiled potatoes
  • 50 milliliters milk
  • 100 grams of bacon
  • 1 egg

Prepare the dough:
Mix the warm milk with the fresh yeast and the honey/sugar.
Mix the flour with the warm milk mixture, the warm water and the olive oil and make a non sticky dough.
Let it rest for an hour.

Meanwhile prepare the filling:1
Boil the peeled potatoes. Mash them with the milk and let them cool!

Divide the dough in two parts.
Spread one part on the table and on the lower half of the dough add half of the potato filling.
Above add the chopped bacon.

Now turn the upper part of the dough to cover the lower part with the filling.

Cut thin stripes and bind them two by two in a spiral like in the photos bellow.

Brush one beaten egg above each spiral and bake them in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until done.

Enjoy!

Hotel review - Best Western Plus Hotel Expo, Villafranca di Verona

Be careful what type of room you buy and what you receive.
When we checked in we received a room that wasn´t what we paid for. We had to come back and ask again and then we received our room.

They didn´t even apologize. Maybe this is something they practice often.

Free parking places and free internet . Disappointing breakfast.

You can see the difference between the rooms, right?

Trip to Binibequer Vell, Menorca

Menorca seemed a really beautiful island (as opposed to Mallorca).

Houses all white, nice beaches and good ensaimadas.

While here, Binibequer Vell is a must see.

Fast yogurt donuts - recipe with step-by-step photos

Ingredients:
  • 400 grams of yogurt
  • 260 grams of flour
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 grams baking powder
  • zest from 1 small lemon
  • a pinch of salt
  • powdered sugar
  • sunflower oil for frying

Beat the eggs with the sugar for 1 minute.
Add the yogurt and the salt and mix.

Add the lemon zest and the flour previously mixed with the baking powder.
Make a soft dough.

Heat the sunflower oil and pass the spoon trough the heated oil.

Now, with this hot spoon take little balls of dough and add it into the hot sunflower oil. The heated spoon will help you make this balls because otherwise the dough will stick on it.

Once done, take the donuts out on paper napkins to absorb the extra oil and spread above some powdered sugar.

They are great even the next day.
Enjoy!
