Round cheese pie - recipe with step-by-step photos

Ingredients for the dough:
  • 330 grams of wheat flour
  • 250 milliliters of warm water
  • 120 grams of butter
  • a bit of salt

Ingredients for the filling:
  • 800 grams of fresh cheese
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • salt


Prepare the dough:
Mix the flour with the salt.
Make a whole in the middle of the flour and add the water little by little.
Start mixing the flour with the water until you have a non sticky dough.


Cover the dough in a plastic foil and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.


Take out the dough and divide it in 6-7 equal pieces. Divide the butter in as many parts as the dough.


Spread one piece of dough on the table and spread one part of the butter at room temperature.


Now, fold the dough as you see in the pictures bellow.





Repeat the operation with each one of the other pieces of dough and put them in the fridge to rest for 4 hours.


Prepare the filling:
Mix the cheese with 2 eggs, the sugar and a bit of salt.


Preheat the oven at 190 Celsius degrees.

Take out the dough from the fridge and start making your pie.

Spread one piece of the dough on the table.

Add a few spoons with cheese mixture and spread it over the entire surface of the dough.


Roll the dough and then make a snail shape out of the rolled dough.


Put it in the oven tray. Repeat the operation with the other pieces of dough and roll them around the first dough snail you made.

We prepared 2 pies, one using 3 pieces of dough and the other using 4 pieces of dough.


Beat the remaining egg and brush it over the pie.

Bake the pie for 40 - 45 minutes or until ready.
