Homemade candied strawberries

Ingredients:
  • 450 grams of fresh strawberries
  • 400 milliliters of water
  • 450 grams of sugar


Mix the water with 300 grams of sugar and let it boil for 15 minutes.


Meanwhile, clean and wash the strawberries and add them over the water/sugar syrup.




Let it boil for 1.5 hours at medium fire.


Strain the strawberries in order to separate from the syrup. Then put back the strawberries in the pot with only 100 milliliters of syrup and let it simmer for another hour (you can use the rest of the syrup to make flavoured either with or without alcohool).

Take out the strawberries and put them in the oven at 100 Celsius degrees for 1,5 hours.

If your strawberries are still moist let them in the oven for another hour.


Keep them in a fridge in a closed food box.
