Eating out - Burger si scoici, Bucharest, Romania

The restaurant is in the old city center of Bucharest. It´s small and cozy. Because it´s so small, there are 2 such restaurants just a few minutes apart. Apparently they are owned by a local renowned chef.

The food didn´t impressed us too much.

The ribs were 80% fat and apparently if you want some garlic on your potatoes you have to ask for it, but the waiters failed to mention that. Anyway, the potatoes were OK.

The mussels came without fries, as it´s usually served in the other countries. And the quantity is half of what you receive in other countries. They came just with a garlic soup and some croutons. The soup was really good though.

The table was trembling at any touch, so this shows the level of interst and maintenance from staff. The clients tried to stabilize them with paper tissues.

Before entering in the restaurant one girl stood outside trying to bring people in. Apparently they were already fully booked and if someone without reservation tried to get a table, they were refused. So why bother to bring people in, just to turn them down seconds after?!

The price was similar to that in other restaurants in the old center of Bucharest. The wine was rather expensive, however.

All in all, a strong disappointment.

The photos are a bit blurry but you can see the essential.
